Justice and Peace: The parish supports the work of Justice and Peace in a number of ways including support of SCIAF and promoting Fairtrade (see below). Information can be found on the parish noticeboard.
In addition, the parish supports SSVP, Fresh Start, the local Foodbank (see separate tabs), and in other areas as required.
SCIAF: The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund is the official overseas development fund of the Scottish Bishops Conference. The parish supports SCIAF’s WEE BOX Lenten Campaign, ad hoc special collections for disaster appeals and by displaying SCIAF promotional materials. During Lent Justice and Peace themes are reflected on in the Stations of the Cross.
Fairtrade: St Kentigern’s has been a Fairtrade parish since 2007 promoting Fairtrade by using Fairtrade tea and coffee at all parish events and by publicising and promoting Fairtrade fortnight. Past events have included Fairtrade bake sales, a Fairtrade cooking demonstration, Fairtrade coffee mornings, Fairtrade product displays and most recently a Fairtrade tombola.
